WE IDENTIFY AND VALIDATE small organic compounds towards new and innovative disease targets, discovered by collaborative academic research groups. For promising projects, subsidiaries are formed. Candidate drugs with first-in-class potential are divested to the pharmaceutical industry for further development.

TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS we work closely with the academic scientists, an extensive network of consultants and a handpicked selection of contract research organizations. Actar acts as a coordinating hub, managing the drug discovery process from academic project to candidate drug and beyond.Our laboratory for biological testing is located at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm and our medicinal chemistry laboratory is positioned at Uppsala University’s Biomedical Center.

OUR DEDICATED AND HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF has experience from academic research as well as from biotech- and big pharma industry R&D operations. Actar employs project managers and specialists in biology, pharmacology, pharmacy, medicinal- and analytical chemistry as well as in intellectual property rights.
